Scene N Heard is a private practice outpatient clinic focused on serving the needs of children and adolescents through experiential therapy methods. We welcome all children and teens desiring guidance and change to our clinic; we specialize in wrap around services for children and teens who have discharged from psychiatric hospital, residential and rehabilitation facilities, and address needs which come before and from this transition. We offer talk, play, music, yoga, family and group therapies through a trauma informed lens to best meet the variety of needs of our clients. We believe elements that are already present in a person’s life can be the most healing and we want to help guide our children and teens to access these tools.
Lindsay Ryan,MT-BC, MFT and play therapy student
There is value in expressing your own authentic story, all of the wonderful moments, and all of the painful ones; there is value in the opportunity to be heard. Within this space, there are many different ways I hear and witness a story. My specialty is guiding and walking with clients through difficult seasons of life using strengths already present in their life. We use what is valuable in your life, and through specific theoretical models, help you to find relief and balance. We all have potential for success in our unique journey, and while I help guide that success, the client defines it.
I employ the theoretical growth model approach which believes positive change is possible for each story, no matter what has happened, no matter what someone has done, no matter your past history or future journey. I have been honored to witness many clients make positive change. Using evidenced-based techniques and methods from a variety of experiential (play, music, sand tray) and talk therapies I will aid you in exploring a more balanced, authentic way of being. It is my privilege to work with clients of all walks of life.
I am a board certified music therapist and play therapist, with over 5 years of experience working with children and adolescents in inpatient psychiatric and outpatient wrap around services. I am trained and honored to serve the LGBTQ+ community; I have also been trained in trauma informed and multicultural care. I practice therapy through a systemic, attachment lens and am willing to see all children, adolescents and families for a consultation session from which we discuss how to move forward.
